This long-standing relationship has resulted in the successful completion of 369 asbestos surveys and 104 air tests over the past three years alone, demonstrating our consistent commitment to excellence in asbestos management, particularly in Consortium of Local Authorities Special Programme (CLASP) buildings that form a significant part of the council’s educational and public building portfolio.
The Challenge
The Council faced particular challenges with their extensive portfolio of CLASP-type buildings, constructed between the 1950s and 1980s. These structures present unique complexities due to their design, including hidden voids and difficult-to-access areas where asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) are commonly found. The council needed a partner who could safely and thoroughly inspect these challenging spaces while maintaining operations in busy public buildings, especially schools.
Our Solution
Our specialist asbestos and hazardous materials company, Lucion Services Ltd, implemented a comprehensive approach combining technical expertise with careful planning. Working closely with the council, our project management team established clear lines of communication and robust processes to ensure all works progressed smoothly and met deadlines. Our substantial pool of qualified surveyors and analysts, strategically based across the north and south, enables us to respond quickly to the council’s needs while maintaining consistent quality standards.
