Radiation Monitor Hire FAQ

These are instruments that can detect ionising radiations of varying types, and energies, examples of which are Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Xray, Neutron. They can be used to detect emissions from sealed and unsealed sources, NORM, particle accelerators, x-ray equipment, etc.

Radiation monitors can be used to identify and quantify ionising radiations. However, it is important to choose the correct combination as all instruments and probes have limitations. Therefore, consulting with a qualified expert e.g. Radioactive Waste Adviser, is advised. Lucion can provide expert advice on the correct choice of monitor and probe for your work.

Only those trained to understand the hazards, risks and controls associated with ionising radiations. Specific training is also required to understand the correct techniques for monitoring, and the limitations of the monitors being used. Contact Lucion if training is required.

Paired with our expert knowledge of monitors, and wide range of stock items, our team provides the support and advice you need to ensure your monitoring work is a success. Our trained and competent staff are available to answer all your monitoring queries, with the aim of helping you comply with your HSE and environmental responsibilities.
