Presentation Overview
During this
presentation, our team will delve into the critical aspects of Legionella control within water systems. The central theme of the presentation will be the importance of adhering to relevant legislation and guidance to effectively mitigate risks.
Kieran will illuminate the audience on essential acts and regulations, including the Health and Safety at Work Act, Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) Regulations, and the Management of Health & Safety At Work Regulations.
The primary focus of the presentation will be on guidance documents such as the HSE's HSG 274 and NHS’s HTM 04-01, with a specific emphasis on British Standards relating to Legionella control and prevention. Kieran will dissect these resources, unveiling their practical applications and their pivotal role in safeguarding public health.
To provide a tangible understanding of the challenges faced in the field, Kieran will present real-world case studies. These case studies will shed light on instances where diligent adherence to guidance still resulted in the presence of Legionella. Attendees will gain insights into the complexities and limitations of Legionella control measures.
Empowering Professionals
By the end of the presentation, attendees will leave with a deeper understanding of the regulatory landscape, best practices, and the imperative need for ongoing vigilance in combatting Legionella in water systems. This knowledge will empower professionals within the field to devise more effective strategies for Legionella risk management while navigating the nuances of guidance within the context of practical challenges.
