Our business Unit Lucion Infrastructure has appointed Scott Grayson as Head of Structural Investigation, reinforcing our commitment to delivering comprehensive materials testing and structural surveying services across the UK.
Lucion Infrastructure has experienced substantial growth throughout 2025, delivering specialist structural investigation, concrete testing, and highways surveying services to clients across the utilities, infrastructure, and highways sectors.
Our Infrastructure division provides critical support for asset owners, developers, and contractors who require detailed assessment of structural condition, material composition, and load-bearing capacity. From highway coring and pavement investigations to comprehensive building fabric surveys, our team combines technical expertise with state-of-the-art equipment to deliver reliable, actionable data.
A key milestone in 2025 for the Infrastructure team was achieving UKAS accreditation for concrete surveying, demonstrating our commitment to industry-leading standards and technical excellence.
The appointment of Scott Grayson as our new Head of Infrastructure comes at key time as we expand our Infrastructure service capabilities.
About Scott Grayson
Scott Grayson brings over 30 years of experience in the construction materials testing field to his new role. His extensive background spans concrete and masonry surveying, intrusive and non-destructive testing techniques, and the management of large-scale structural investigation programmes across bridges, buildings, rail infrastructure, and highways networks.
Having held senior operational and divisional leadership positions with leading testing organisations, Scott has built a reputation for delivering technically robust solutions whilst developing high-performing teams. His hands-on expertise encompasses the full spectrum of structural investigation services from half-cell potential surveys and ferroscan analysis to trial pitting, RAAC surveys, and load assessment work.
Andy Wise, Business Unit Director for Lucion Infrastructure, commented:
“We’re delighted to welcome Scott to the Lucion Infrastructure team. His appointment represents a significant step forward in our ambition to become the go-to provider for structural investigation services across the UK.
Scott’s depth of technical knowledge, combined with his proven track record in building successful operations, will be instrumental as we develop and expand our offering in 2026 and beyond.”
A Full Spectrum of Services from Concrete to Highways
With our recent accreditation and service expansion, Lucion Infrastructure delivers three core service lines under structural investigation:
Concrete Testing & Investigation
Our team provides a complete range of UKAS-Accredited concrete assessment services, including half-cell surveys, cover meter testing, resistivity surveys, bond strength testing, and ferroscan surveys. We undertake concrete condition surveys, material sampling through diamond drilling, and rebound hammer and pull-out testing to assess structural integrity and inform maintenance strategies.
Building Structural Fabric Surveys
We conduct intrusive fabric surveys, steel dimension surveys, steel sampling and testing, RAAC surveys, floor slab surveys for load assessments, DH15 sub-station materials testing, wall tie surveys, and borescope inspections. Our capabilities extend to crack measurement and monitoring, load/deflection performance testing, ultrasonic testing, and paint thickness analysis and sampling.
Highway Coring
Our specialist highway coring services include dynamic cone penetrometer (DCP) surveys and coal tar analysis, supporting pavement assessment, maintenance planning, and compliance with highways standards.
As the demand for detailed structural assessment continues to grow across ageing infrastructure assets, our expanded team is well-positioned to support clients with accurate, reliable investigation services that inform critical decision-making.
Scott Grayson added:
“I’m excited to be joining Lucion Infrastructure at such a pivotal time for the business. It’s good to be back doing what I enjoy, and I’m looking forward to the fresh challenge of building on the strong foundations already in place.
There’s a real opportunity to develop our structural investigation offering and deliver exceptional service to clients across multiple sectors.”
