Congratulations to Norwich regional office Unit Director, James Harrison, for his recent certificate of commendation from the Association of Geotechnical & Geo-environmental Specialists (AGS) to acknowledge his contributions to both the AGS Contaminated Land Working Group and the AGS.

The AGS is a trade association that works to improve the profile and quality of geotechnical and geo-environmental engineering.  James was commended by the AGS for his involvement in the association’s Contaminated Land Working Group. The AGS is a subsidiary of the Environmental Committee of the Construction Industry Council (CIC), and informs members of developments around contaminated land and the environment, providing advice and feedback on documentation and policy.  Currently the AGS and the British Drilling Association (BDA) are working together in a “taskforce” initiative to gauge feedback on the current standard of the UK Ground Investigation industry (read more).  The results of which will be highlighted at this year’s Geotechnica, the UK’s largest geotechnical conference and exhibition held at the Warwickshire Exhibition Centre on 12-13th July where James expects to represent Delta-Simons and client’s interests in a debate.

James joined Delta-Simons in 2007 as Geo-environmental Consultant, and has been Technical Director since 2013, eventually heading up the first regional office Delta-Simons based in Norwich. James is an engineering geologist working on engineering, contaminated land and waste projects in the ground since 1988.

The AGS welcomes comments on the industry from all stakeholders, via the working groups and interested parties can contact James more information.
