In a significant move during Mental Health Awareness Week 2025 (12-16 May), we are pleased to announce that Lucion has become a signatory of the Building Mental Health Charter, marking a new chapter in our commitment to workplace wellbeing.

“The mental health of everyone within the Lucion team is critical to the success of the business and must be a fundamental part of what defines our culture, how we operate and how we support our people.

By signing the Building Mental Health Charter, we’re making a clear statement about our commitment to creating lasting positive change in our industry. This isn’t just about meeting standards – it’s about setting them.”

Phil Coles, Chief Executive Officer, Lucion.

Professional Support Network

At the heart of our mental health strategy lies our extensive network of Mental Health First Aiders (MHFAs), professionally trained through MHFA England‘s internationally recognised programme.

Carolyn Cole, Chief People Officer at Lucion, emphasises the importance of this initiative,

“Our Mental Health First Aid training programme represents a significant investment in our people’s wellbeing. We’ve seen remarkable engagement across all levels of the organisation, with colleagues stepping forward to become mental health champions.

This training isn’t just about responding to crisis situations – it’s about creating a culture where mental health conversations are normalised and support is readily available.”

Building Inclusive Communities

Recent months have seen the launch of innovative community initiatives designed to foster connection and support across our organisation, including our most recent community launches Circles and Brew Crew.

Circles – A Safe Space For Women

Circles, our newly rebranded women’s networking group, offers both professional development and community support.

The community combines structured learning sessions on topics like confidence building and wellbeing toolkits with regular community meetings, creating spaces for connection and growth.

Brew Crew – Mental Health Support For Men

Complementing this, Brew Crew provides a dedicated mental health support hub for male colleagues. Dave Cage, Mental Health First Aider and Brew Crew host, shares his vision:

“I truly believe that mental fitness is just as important as physical fitness and having a space where men can talk—or even just listen—without pressure is invaluable.

Brew Crew is about making sure no one feels alone, whether they need support, a sounding board, or just a brew and a chat.”

In addition to launching key support community groups within Lucion, our commitment to building a positive mental health culture extends to practical, everyday support through various initiatives including cycle to work schemes, volunteer opportunities, health and fitness programmes, 24/7 GP access, and regular wellbeing classes.

We’ve also strengthened our partnership with The Lighthouse Club, the Construction Industry Charity, extending our support to the wider construction community and will be issuing further communications about our work with the charity in due course.

Be Part of a Positive Journey

While Mental Health Awareness Week provides an important focus for these initiatives, our commitment to mental health support continues year-round.

Through our Building Mental Health Charter pledges, comprehensive wellbeing programmes, and innovative community initiatives, we’re creating an environment where everyone can thrive.

If you’re passionate about working in an environment that prioritises mental health and wellbeing, we’d love to hear from you. At Lucion, you’ll find more than just a job – you’ll find a community committed to supporting each other’s success and wellbeing.
