Our specialist radiation protection company, Lucion Radiation Protection Services, is sending its expert team to the 7th European IRPA Congress, taking place from 1-5 June 2026 at Liverpool Experience Campus.
The IRPA Congress, themed ‘Encouraging Collaboration in Radiation Protection’, represents the largest radiation protection gathering in Europe and one of the most significant globally.

Matt Brodie, commented:
“The 7th European IRPA Congress represents an invaluable opportunity for our team to engage with the latest developments in radiation protection and connect with leading experts from around the world.
As one of the UK’s leading providers of radiation protection services, events like this are crucial for staying at the forefront of industry best practices and regulatory developments. We’re particularly looking forward to the sessions on decommissioning and waste management, as well as the discussions around the ICRP’s review of the radiation protection system. These topics are highly relevant to the work we do supporting our clients across energy, healthcare, education, industrial, and research sectors.”
Cathy Nortey, Radiation Protection Advisor at Lucion and member of the IRPA organisation committee, added:
“Being involved in organising this congress has been an incredible experience, and I’m excited to see it come to fruition in Liverpool.
The theme of ‘Encouraging Collaboration’ really resonates with me, especially through my work with The Society for Radiological Protection’s Rising Generation Group. This event provides a fantastic platform for early career professionals like myself to learn from experienced practitioners whilst contributing fresh perspectives to the radiation protection community.”
Bringing International Best Practice to Our Clients
The congress will feature opening addresses from IRPA President Chris Clement, alongside distinguished speakers from the World Health Organisation (WHO), the International Commission on Radiological Protection (ICRP), and other leading international bodies. Plenary sessions will cover topics including the WHO perspective on radiation and health, whilst parallel sessions will explore specialist areas such as sustainability and ethics, education and training, and measurement and dosimetry.
For our Lucion Radiation Protection Services Ltd team, the event presents professional development opportunities that will enhance our ability to deliver cutting-edge radiation protection solutions to our diverse client base across the UK.
