In a landmark development for workplace inclusivity, Lucion proudly announces its commitment to the Government's Disability Confident scheme.
A Holistic Approach to Workplace Wellbeing
Our journey towards creating an inclusive workplace takes a multi-faceted approach, addressing both physical and mental wellbeing. The timing of our Disability Confident commitment follows our recent signing of the Building Mental Health Charter during Mental Health Awareness Week 2025, creating a comprehensive framework for workplace support.
Commenting on our latest commitment, Chief Executive Officer Phil Coles said;
“The wellbeing of everyone within the Lucion team is critical to our success and is a fundamental part of what defines our culture. These commitments aren’t just about aspirational goals – they’re about setting them, ensuring the whole business meets and achieves them and they become a ways of life in Lucion.”
Building an Inclusive Future
Our approach focuses on three key areas:
Educate
- Comprehensive disability awareness training
- Mental Health First Aid training through MHFA England
- Regular workshops on invisible disabilities
Engage
- Active consultation with employees
- Dedicated support communities including Circles and Brew Crew
- Supporting The Lighthouse Club through fundraising and awareness activities
Empower
- Clear career progression pathways
- 24/7 support services including GP access
- Free financial wellbeing support
- Free counselling when needed
- Access to numerous wellbeing classes through our Perks At Work platform
Additionally, we provide opportunities to engage as a whole business to win wellbeing days and work with different teams across the business through various activities including our latest initiative, Summer Steps Challenge, a challenge designed to get our teams moving this summer.
Creating Supportive Communities
Our commitment to inclusion is exemplified through our community initiatives.
The Brew Crew, led by Dave Cage, provides vital mental health support for male colleagues, while our Circles programme offers professional development and support for women.
These initiatives complement our growing network of Mental Health First Aiders, creating a comprehensive support system.
Spearheading these initiatives as Lucion’s recently appointed Chief People Officer, Carolyn Cole commented;
“Our integrated approach to workplace wellbeing, combining mental health support with disability inclusion, creates an environment where everyone can flourish.
This latest initiative complements our recent Building Mental Health Charter signing and our double RoSPA Gold Award win, demonstrating our comprehensive approach to employee wellbeing and workplace safety.”
As a Disability Confident Committed employer, we’re implementing practical solutions that complement our existing wellbeing framework. This includes accessible recruitment processes, and clear support pathways for employees with both visible and non-visible disabilities.
“With over 7.7 million working-age people in the UK having a disability or health condition, our commitment to the Disability Confident scheme represents a crucial step in ensuring we’re accessing all available talent while creating a truly inclusive workplace.”
– Lucion’s ESG Manager Zee Sheldon
