A Year of Progress: Lucion’s CEO End of Year Message

As we approach the end of another year, I find myself reflecting on the significant journey Lucion has undertaken throughout 2024. It's been a year marked by strategic transformation, resilience, and achievement across our organisation.

Since taking the helm as CEO, I’ve been constantly impressed by the dedication and capabilities of our teams across our business.  

I’m particularly proud of several notable achievements across our group this year. Our team have continued to demonstrate excellence in delivering complex projects across a multitude of sectors with particular growth in the onshore power and real estate industries. Our work with key clients continues to expand, showcasing our expertise in managing sophisticated, large-scale projects. 

Lucion’s Strategic Realignment 

During the year, our companies Midlands Survey Ltd and Landform Surveys came together to form a single team representing our Land and Building Surveying Team. With new office moves and expansion into new industries, the team are poised for exciting developments with planned investments in new equipment and additional facilities as we move into 2025. 

Throughout the year, we’ve maintained our commitment to strengthening the foundations of our business. We’ve continued to focus on Health, Safety, and Quality performance and have achieved a multitude of certifications and awards including achieving our RoSPA Gold Award, CHAS Elite and  ConstructionLine Gold for our surveying team, excelling in our UKAS assessment and proficiency test at our hazardous materials and geotechnical labs and successfully retaining our ISO accreditation in our radiation team, to name a few. We remain focused on delivering service excellence, enhancing our Health and Safety and Quality reporting, and accelerating our commercial activities. 

Unified Service Delivery 

This year, we have invested in our brand and digital presence, bringing together our heritage acquisitions into one, Lucion. Our strong brand equity and technical expertise position us well for continued growth and success in the coming year. 

As we look toward 2025, I’m excited to welcome our new Chief People Officer in January, marking another step in our journey to build an even stronger organisation. 

Digitally Enabled Environmental Solutions 

I’m very proud to announce that we have soft launched our upgraded NexGen application which many of our clients use and which is fundamental to the Lucion business. 

We’ve been working hard behind the scenes to create a more intuitive, powerful, and user-friendly experience for our clients. Following successful testing with our initial beta user group we have rolled this out to 200 client accounts. 

The new NexGen features a completely redesigned dashboard, refreshed branding, and several exciting new features that will transform how our clients interact with their compliance data. Our aim is to create a system designed to help our clients manage compliance without complexity. More on this in the New Year. 

Festive Period Arrangements 

As we approach the holiday season, I would like to let you know about our operational hours. 

For most of Lucion’s group of companies, our offices will close at 5pm on 24th December 2024 and reopen on 2nd January 2025. Our Aberdeen office operates on a modified schedule, closing only on 25th & 26th December 2024, and 1st & 2nd January 2025, with normal operations on all other business days. 

During the closure period, you can reach us through our website’s ‘Make An Enquiry’ form or via email at [email protected]. For our clients with emergency out-of-hours arrangements, these services will continue to operate as per your service agreements. 

As we close another successful year, I want to express my sincere gratitude to our clients and partners for their continued trust and support. Your partnership has been instrumental in our achievements this year, and we look forward to working together in 2025.
