Geo-environmental associates, Mike Gennaro and Mike O’Halloran, will be presenting: Asbestos in Soils at the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors CPD seminar in Newcastle (30 January 2018) and Leeds (7 February 2018). The RICS seminars are regularly held across the UK, focusing on the continued professional development within land, property and the built environment.
Mike Gennaro is an associate in our
Durham regional office with over 20 years’ multidisciplinary environmental experience in
contaminated land and
waste management industries. He has extensive project, financial and site management expertise having worked on numerous brownfield and landfill development schemes.
Mike O’Halloran is based in the
Leeds regional office and brings over 13 years’
contaminated land experience on sites such as former gas works, collieries, chemical facilities, petroleum storage
facilities, ports and industrial premises.
Mike and Mike will be delivering their presentations on how to deal with asbestos in soil, construction and demolition materials. Asbestos could be present on construction sites, contaminated land or brownfield development sites. Therefore, it is essential that surveyors understand how to identify when asbestos and if present steps you must take to comply with the law.
The seminar will provide guidance on:
- The importance of considering asbestos-containing soil (ACS)
- Appropriate legislation and guidance
- Identification, risk assessment and remediation
- Appointing contractors, consultants and specialists
- Communicating risks associated with ACS
Mike Gennaro will be presenting on 30 January in Newcastle.
