Aspire Defence plays a crucial role in supporting the UK's military infrastructure through one of the largest Private Finance Initiatives (PFI) ever undertaken by the Ministry of Defence.
Since 2006, our client, Aspire Defence, has been transforming soldiers’ lives by delivering and maintaining high-quality living and working accommodation across multiple Army garrisons.
Aspire’s commitment to excellence extends to 2041, encompassing a comprehensive programme of building, improving, and maintaining soldiers’ single living and working accommodation.
Following nearly two decades of partnership, Aspire Defence presented our team with a special recognition award at their Safety and Sustainability Event this October (2025).
Larne Fuller, Area Director at Lucion Services Ltd, reflected on the company’s history with Aspire Defence;
“Since 2006, we’ve been providing asbestos compliance services to Aspire Defence. This award is a testament to our team’s unwavering commitment to safety and technical excellence, and we are proud to be part of Aspire’s mission to provide first rate homes for soldiers.”
Setting New Standards in Safety and Innovation
Listed in the award recognition, Aspire said;
“As well as managing our day to day needs Lucion have supported all our projects (521 live projects as of today) over the year. This has demanded exceptional flexibility from their surveying team, who have consistently adapted to shifting priorities and locations with professionalism and commitment.
We particularly want to commend Lucion’s surveying team for their can-do attitude and their commitment to getting things done.”
Building a Safer Future for Military Communities
Through this partnership, Lucion has played a vital role in Aspire Defence’s mission to create better living and working environments for military personnel. Working in partnership with Rhodar, our services have supported the safe delivery of numerous accommodation improvements and facilities management projects across multiple garrison sites. The work has been particularly crucial in managing asbestos-related risks in older buildings while facilitating modernisation programmes.
Adam Norgrove, Aspire’s Client Relationship Manager, praised the supplier collaboration;
“Our collaborative approach with Rhodar exemplifies the kind of partnership we can deliver to our clients working with other contractors on site.
Our joint delivery of the Hazardous Materials Workshop in late 2024 was particularly praised by Aspire, providing crucial insights into asbestos management in confined spaces and high-risk environments.
The practical demonstrations and specialist vehicle displays made it a truly comprehensive learning experience.”
Future Risk Management in the Defence Sector
As Aspire Defence continues its vital work in improving military accommodation until 2041, Lucion remains committed to supporting this mission through innovative solutions and exceptional service delivery, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of military personnel in their living and working environments.
