Martin Lucass brings nearly two decades of environmental consultancy expertise to his role as Business Unit Director for Environment & Sustainability at Lucion Group.  

A Chartered Geologist with both a BSc in Environmental Geology and an MSc in Hydrogeology from the University of Leeds, Martin’s career spans multiple disciplines within the environmental sector. 

Most recently, as Commercial Director, Martin demonstrated exceptional leadership and commercial acumen, successfully growing the team from 10 to 30 people while tripling turnover and significantly improving operating profit. His strategic direction focused on contaminated land, flooding and drainage services, delivering over 1,000 reports annually to support UK planning applications. 

Throughout his career, Martin has developed extensive expertise across various environmental disciplines, including flood risk assessment, environmental due diligence, geo-environmental services, ecology, acoustics and air quality. His experience includes notable projects such as the hydrogeological assessment of the proposed Moorside Nuclear Power Station and environmental impact assessments for major infrastructure projects including HS2 and Crossrail. 

Prior to joining Lucion, Martin held senior positions at several leading consultancies, where he consistently demonstrated his ability to drive business growth, improve operational efficiency, and deliver high-quality environmental services to clients across multiple sectors. 

Martin’s multidisciplinary background and proven track record in business growth and leadership make him ideally suited to guide Lucion’s Environmental and Sustainability business unit towards continued success and expansion.
