With a unique background that began in engineering before transitioning to finance, Alex combines technical understanding with strategic financial expertise to drive business growth and operational excellence.

Alex is a chartered accountant (FCA) who qualified with PwC, where he honed his skills as an audit manager. His diverse career has seen him hold senior finance positions across multiple sectors, including technology services, data analytics, travel, aviation, financial services, and manufacturing.

Career Journey

Starting his professional life as a design and software engineer with a Master’s Degree in Engineering, Alex’s technical foundation provides him with a unique perspective on business operations. His transition to finance saw him progress rapidly through senior roles at leading organisations including Barclays, Manchester Airport, and Thomas Cook, before moving into CFO positions at private equity-backed businesses.

At Brookson Group, Alex was responsible for M&A activity, debt financing, financial planning and analysis, and due diligence. He successfully led the company through a sale to People 2.0 in May 2022, demonstrating his expertise in complex financial transactions and value creation.
